New House

Well, I'm a little nervous to advertise this quite yet, but I can't help it - Gerald and I bought a house!  We're really excited so I thought I'd put a few pictures up.  The Lord's fingerprints have just been all over this.  We have always loved this neighborhood for a couple of reasons: it's about one mile from our church, it's flat, it's a dead end (literally not figuratively), and one of our favorite families from church lives there.  

So, we looked at this house in November and liked it, but Gerald was still in-between jobs and we just weren't sure we were ready to commit.  When Gerald got his new job in January, we saw it was still on the market, but when we checked with our realtor (whom I'd recommend highly to anyone looking around here), he said it was already under contract.  Because the house was a short sale, it had actually been under contract for several months, apparently they just take a long time.  

Last Thursday morning I drove by it again just to see if the sign was still up  - it was.  Gerald and I talked later that day and even though we thought it was probably already sold, we decided if something fell through, we'd definitely put an offer on it.  Would you believe our realtor called at 3:00 that afternoon to tell me it hadn't gone through?  God is so funny.  So we signed our offer Thursday night and they accepted it Friday morning.  And hopefully the rest will be history!  If not it might just end up being a little embarrassing, but I'm among friends, right?
