Slovak Family

We finally got to meet some of Miriam's Slovak family! Seven adults and two kids from her church came over for a three week long conference at New City Fellowship. We met up with all of them the first Saturday they were in the States at Coolidge Park and got to have one of Miriam's good friends, Petra, over for dinner. What a joy to get to know her! Petra is now heading down to Jason and Juley's church where she will be their summer youth intern. I know she'll do a great job and they will love having her - she's been well discipled if I can brag about Miriam for a second! (I would have a picture of Petra if she and and Laura hadn't taken all funky ones together - I should just put them up, but she might kill me.....)

Later the next week I got to have dinner with more of Miriam's good friends, Jano and Mata and their little boy, David, who is about six months older than Roger. He is ADORABLE - and he loves Miriam. When he saw her picture hanging up, he kept pointing to it. He and Roger are both pretty independent, but I did manage to get a couple of pictures of them together. It meant so much to be with people who love my sister - especially with Mata, I felt we were instant friends - even sisters because of our relationship with Mir.

Here I am holding Davidko and Mata with Roger

To be able to visit with them was bittersweet - it made me miss Miriam SO much! Even now it's hard to think about without tearing up. (Don't worry, Mir, I know you are sure of your calling and so am I (if that counts) but I still wish you were here! (Are you even allowed to do a parenthesis inside of a parenthesis? (I guess anything goes in the "blogging world"))). Miriam is planning on coming "home" for fourish months at the beginning of 2009 and we can't wait!
Here's a random picture of our little family -one of the only ones we have so I figured I better post it.
