A Project

Gerald and I have been wanting to paint our bed for awhile now, but it wasn't exactly at the forefront of our minds. So, we decided to wait until I was 9 months pregnant....Well, we bought a paint sprayer in order to paint our crib - it's 15 years old and has been through five kids and needed a little TLC - I know, all you safety nuts are freaking out right now that our crib is so old. But I actually love the fact that Roger and all of his cousins have slept in it. I could probably worry about all the safety hazards, but I'm a worrier - so if I focus on the five beautiful babies that have slept in it, I can sort of trick myself.

Anyway, back to the project: It's still in the basement drying from it's last polyurethane coat so I don't have a finished, finished product, but we're really happy with how it's coming along!

The original product....

Head shot for the headboard.

Close up of some of the details.

Yep, that's me painting - Gerald's so good about helping me be adventurous. Usually I would just assume let him do it all - because he's better at that stuff and because I'm the least adventurous person ever. But when he makes me do stuff, I'm always thankful and usually end up having fun - good thing he doesn't read this blog or my secret would be out...

Here's the first coat - what a difference!

We'll keep you updated on the outcome....
